Description
A handwoven basket bowl crafted from natural flax and raffia, hand dyed with plant dyes. The earthy tones and rich variation of colour come from the natural variations of plant fibres and the dyeing process, each batch producing its own unique palette rooted in the natural world.
Practical enough to hold small treasures, jewellery or trinkets, and beautiful enough to sit on its own as a decorative piece. A functional artwork for the home.
A delicate combination of subtle green tones with rusty browns. This piece is inspired by the soft colour palette of my local silver wattle trees — one of the quintessential characters of the Tasmanian landscape.
Each of my hand woven artworks is unique, each has its own story, shaped slowly by hand, fibre by fibre. No two are ever alike.
Approximately 12cm in diameter and 6cm in height.
Please note: Woven baskets are very durable and vintage pieces in public collections are testament to their longevity. However, colours will fade in the sun so it is best to display woven artworks in a spot sheltered from sunlight.
Handmade in Tasmania.
