Wild Raven is a small home studio in southern Tasmania, where I make slow, small-batch skincare using traditional methods. Alongside organic herbal skincare and cold-process soap, you’ll find a collection of my handwoven artworks and rustic homewares.
Each item is made by hand using carefully sourced organic, homegrown and wild crafted ingredients.
Who
I’m Lucia - the founder, the maker, the grower, and the forager behind Wild Raven.
The work is mostly done by my own hands, though it sits within, and is supported by, the wider rhythm of home and family life. Wild Raven is not built on speed or scale, but on a humbler approach. One that honours time, values simplicity, and stays connected to the natural world.
I started Wild Raven in 2015 after delving into a quest for more honest skincare—pure, simple, and gentle for both skin and the planet. I was inspired to dive deep into traditional methods, to slower processes, and to a deeper connection with natural ingredients. It was a part of a greater shift to get back to basics and ultimately led to a whole new direction in life.
Our Story
Wild Raven was born out of a yearning to return to the wild.
Feeling the weight of city life and its fast-paced, consumer-driven rhythm, my family escaped the metropolis to build a new life in tune with the earth. We made an adventurous move to a quaint little village called Woodbridge on Nuenonne Country in southern Lutruwita (Tasmania), and here we dug our roots into the earth.
Surrounded by an inspiring blue gum forest and overlooking the Southern Hobart Waterways, we’ve built a simple life connected to nature. We live, work, and play alongside resident ravens, visiting flocks of black cockatoos, and endless mobs of Bennet’s wallabies. Occasionally, in the early hours of the morning, we even hear the roar of Tasmanian devils.
Everything I make is shaped by this way of living—slow, close to the land, and guided by the seasons. Each piece is created with care and intention, to be used, enjoyed, and woven into the rituals of everyday life.
Down to Earth Philosophy
In our little corner of rural Tasmania, life follows the rhythm of nature.
We work in respect with the surrounding wilderness foraging, tending, and restoring the land with care. We grow herbs in tune with the seasons, harvest by the cycles of the moon, and our bees are cared for using bee-centric practices that prioritise their health and natural behaviour.
I combine these homegrown and ethically wild-crafted botanicals with carefully sourced organic butters and oils to create a range of pure, simple, and grounded skincare. These creations are infused with my love for the Wild.
Alongside the herbal body range, I also create rustic homewares from home grown and foraged fibres. Each piece shaped by the land it comes from.
Traditional Methods
Wild Raven products are made slow using traditional methods that honour time and process.
Cold-process soaps are blended at low temperatures, poured by hand and allowed to cure for a minimum of four weeks. Herbs are gradually infused into oils over two and a half moon cycles, drawing out their beneficial properties gently and fully.
Small batches allow each product to be made with care and attention. The result is skincare that is honest, true and intentional, grounded in simplicity and traditional craft.
